HFC Mission Budget Gaols for 2011

Over and above the HFC General Fund, HFC also has a Mission Budget. The purpose of this budget is to support various mission efforts, including new church plants, overseas missionaries and other church ministries, all of them directly affiliated with HFC. We are very blessed and pleased to partner with the following ministries:

HFC Eighth Annual Meeting — October, 2010

Leaders Converge in Bridgeport, CT for Eighth Annual Celebration “Advancing God’s Kingdom: Drawing Near to God” was the theme for the 8th Annual HFC Celebration of Leaders as they gathered in Bridgeport, CT on Saturday, Oct. 23rd. Harvest Fellowship of Churches is now a group of 21 churches that includes 4 churches from the Anabaptist Native Fellowship (comprised of the Hopi, Navajo and Ojibwa Indian tribes).
The event packed the Iglesia de Cristo AG church as cars, vans, and even a charted bus filled with participants, came for the afternoon celebration! People drove from the great southwest and Canada; special guests arrived from India and Cambodia; it was a virtual ‘smorgasbord’ of worship, testimonies, reports of new works, and various special music presentations in three different languages. The Indonesian children’s dance, for example, erupted the house into joy and celebration!
The Beacon of Light Community Church Choir got the event off to a great start, followed by the welcome and prayer of Pastor Randolph Stanley. After congregational worship, directed by Daniel Miller and Daniel Smiley, Glenn Metzler moderated a few testimonies. Three new church plants in 2010 were introduced; Good News Christian Church, Bronx, NY led by Pastor James & Andrea Miller, Lighthouse Fellowship Church in Bridgeport, CT led by Pastor Hector & Jennie Muñiz, and Disciples International Christian Church in Portland, ME led by Pastor Lawum & Suzanne Kayamba.
Bishop Henry Buckwalter brought the keynote address, sharing from the text of Luke 7:36-50. The message highlighted five key points: 1) Draw near with pure motives, 2) approach Jesus with humility and brokenness, 3) be aware that God knows our heart, 4) be thankful for God’s mercy and forgiveness, and 5) demonstrate our love with faith and action. Henry concluded the message with challenging the leaders to draw near to God!
Leonard Burkholder introduced testimonies from Kevin Smythe, Kilat Lembong, John & Janet Hannah and Pastor Smiley. E. Daniel Martin shared briefly on the newly formed Kingdom Life Network of Christian Leaders and also introduced members of Koinonia Fellowship of Churches, PTL-India leaders, and Pastor Ouk Bunthoeun from the Cambodian Churches Association. A wonderful meal concluded the celebration.
